Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced software engineer to join our team and help us improve our infrastructure and internal processes to make our developers more effective. In particular, we are looking for someone with server and cloud configuration expertise to help us level-up our team and systems. You will need to be a team player, critical thinker, good mentor and communicator and be interested in how different developers work to be successful.
Responsibilities
Improving our infrastructure and internal processes to make developers more effective.
Mentoring and teaching other engineers.
Have eye-level collaborative discussions with our other engineers to find the best paths forward to improve our applications and systems.
Identify and communicate the tradeoffs and costs of engineering decisions.
Develop an understanding of our application, systems, and developers and clearly communicate guidance in-line with strong engineering principles.
Investigating and resolving issues with our production environments. Making long-term improvements to improve reliability and performance.
Requirements
Alignment with our Vision, Mission & Values
6+ years of professional software engineering experience
Proficiency in Java
Experience doing server and cloud configuration (e.g. Apache Tomcat, AWS Lambda & Step Functions, Infrastructure as Code, Docker)
Ability to come into our Downtown Boston office (19 Kingston St) ~2 days per week.

Compensation: we provide a combination of base salary, contingent bonus and stock options. Our strategy is to provide approximately median compensation for a given role and to try to attract and retain great people who value our impact and mission.
